This summer I was able to work with various wildlife species from quail, doves, and ducks to beavers and whitetail deer. I was able to be a part of a re-establishment program with bobwhite quail, mourning dove banding and management program, duck raising and imprinting program, and preparation for DMAP program for our whitetail deer. On any given day, I was also able to work on the day-to-day activities of the farm from hay production to sporting clays maintenance. When I get a break from Clemson, I still love to go back and fit in where possible on the farm.

I participated in a Creative Inquiry group of wildlife biology students. We are currently planned, implemented and reported on a year long wood duck box survey throughout the Clemson Experimental Forest located in the Upstate of South Carolina. As lead student researcher, I was responsible for assisting my fellow student researchers develop a research plan, coordinating with my team on how and when to accomplish our work, communicating our plans, goals, and findings to our superiors, and reporting our findings.

I empowered students of different cultures and backgrounds to get outdoors while participating in activities, like rock climbing, mountain biking, and boating, that they have never experienced before. I was able to connect with those students and attempt to spark their own love of the outdoors through those trips.

Through my speaking skills I was able to connect with Clemson Alumni, update them on events and news going on currently at Clemson, and persuade many of them to donate to Clemson's academic efforts.

As a whitewater professional, it was my duty to ensure the safety, enjoyment, and enrichment in the outdoors for my guests.
