David is currently Head of Carbon Management for NEOM The Line, seeking to deliver this Mega Project to reach it's Net Zero goals, and reducing the embodied carbon to minimise the global emissions impact. This will require employing the latest carbon assessment and management standards, as well as learning how to build a city the size of London in a fraction of the time - it's an exciting new challenge!David is a Technical Director in Jacobs’ Carbon and Energy team, within Jacobs’ Infrastructure business unit. He is technical lead in the field of carbon accounting, management, reporting and modelling, working in this discipline for the last 17 years. He has supported and led a range of project types including life-cycle assessment (LCA), PAS2080 Carbon Management, PAS2060 Carbon Neutrality, renewable energy assessments, sustainability assessments and waste and resource management. David currently oversees Carbon Management delivery on many of Jacobs’ largest infrastructure programmes, providing technical and strategic direction. Projects include Lower Thames Crossing (LTC), A9 Dualling, A12, High Speed 2 (HS2) and Heathrow Airport Ltd (HAL).David oversees Carbon Management on HS2 for ALIGN who are responsible for construction of the largest and most carbon intensive civil assets along the route of Phase 1. He is also the Senior Technical Reviewer on HS2 Phase 2b for the Environmental Statement. His activities support HS2’s 50% reduction in carbon target. This has included implementation of Jacobs’ first verified PAS 2080 carbon management system and numerous LCAs.David supports Jacobs’ internal corporate carbon reduction activities via the Climate Action Team within which he is a contributing member. He has supported the delivery of the Climate Action Plan and the shaping of the overall strategy and works closely with the UK carbon reporting and reduction activities and team members.David has worked with a range of other client sectors including aviation, building material suppliers, water supply and treatment, mining and hospitality. He has worked closely with many industrial clients including food & drink, chemicals and plastics. David has also worked with the public sector including higher education, health, central government and non-governmental agencies.
