I served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Counsel to Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-Or), a member of the Committee on Ways and Means. I formerly served as Congressman Blumenauer's Legislative Director, where I managed legislative staff and, at various times, ran Mr. Blumenauer's tax, trade, transportation, and healthcare portfolios.

As a Presidential Management Fellow in the Secretary's office at the U.S. Department of Commerce, I evaluated bureau performance against budget objectives and presented those findings to the Deputy Secretary.
