Currently serve as the Ammo & Materials/Ordnance Quality Control Officer for the Navy Munitions Command Far East Asia Division where I serve as the overall as the overall program subject matter expert tasked by my superiors with directing, guiding, reviewing and approving the formulation and execution of all processes supporting the ammunition mission for the Japan region’s Naval and Marine forces.

From 2009 – 2012 was assigned to the USS Mustin (DDG-89) as the Test Officer where I was in-charge of supervising the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and the conducting of guided missile test firing operations from the ship. Directed the handling, fueling, servicing and firing of missiles. Coordinated range facilities such as communications, telemetering, missile tracking cameras and radar.As I was the recognized subject matter expert, often called upon to use my extensive weapons systems troubleshooting, maintenance and testing experience to lead teams of weapons maintenance personnel in the planning and coordinating of a variety of work related functions to ensure that the ship’s weapons systems were running at peak performance levels.

From 2006 – 2008 I was assigned to the USS Roosevelt (DDG-80) as the Weapons Department Leading Chief Petty-Officer where I led a highly trained and skilled team of 75 Gunner’s Mates, Fire Control Technicians and Sonar Technicians in the maintaining, and operation of the complete arsenal of ship’s weapons from small arms and 5-inch guns to various missile platforms. Assisted the Weapons Officer by administering division of the weapons department. I directed the operation, maintenance and repair of weapons and associated equipment while assigning personnel to weapons duties. Established and supervised the weapons training program, scheduled drills, organized firing practices and ensured the readiness of equipment and spaces. Inspected battery and directed the care, handling, stowage and use of battery ammunition. Promulgated weapons doctrine and oversaw the preparation of division records and reports for submittal to higher authority for review.
