In this role, I am responsible for Project Delivery at Lochard Energy and my team manages the major projects through the approvals, engineering and implementation activities. Key projects currently underway are:- The Heytesbury Underground Gas Storage Project (HUGS). This project is in execute phase and involves a further expansion of the Iona Gas Storage Facility (IGSF) through the drilling and connecting 2 additional gas storage wells to the IGSF via a new wellsite and 5.3 km licensed pipeline.- The H2RESTORE Underground Hydrogen Storage (UHS) project. This project is currently undertaking a $6.3M Feasibility Study and aims to commercialise large scale UHS in the Otway Basin by 2030. This project recently received $2M of funding from ARENA.In this role, I also manage the Lochard subsurface team and are responsible for the development and implementation of the overall Project Delivery Management System.

Project Manager, Heytesbury Underground Gas Storage Project (Hugs)

The Heytesbury Underground Gas Storage Project (HUGS) will expand the capacity of the Iona Gas Storage Facility (IGSF). The scope involves the following activities:- The drilling of 2 new gas storage wells from a new wellsite- The installation of a new 5.3 km licensed pipeline to connect the new site to the existing pipeline network of the IGSF- Brownfield upgrades to the Iona Gas Plant to increase gas export and import from the storage fields that are connected to Iona via pipeline.I was the manager of this development from the concept select stage through until part of the way through FEED when I handed this project over to a colleague. Key activities during these phases of the project were:- Working closely with the commercial team to shape the project to meet the needs of the market while optimising the scope to minimise the capital cost.- Obtaining land access and planning permit for the new site.- Progressing the complex regulatory approvals for the project and undertaking key environmental and cultural heritage studies.

In this role I project managed $70M of upgrades to the Iona Gas Storage Facility (IGSF) to further expand the capacity of the facility. I was the manager of this project from the initial concept select studies through to final completion and handover.This complex project involved:- A 5.5 km pipeline replacement- Full upgrade of the North Paaratte Wellsite, Wallaby Creek Wellsite and North Paaratte Production Station to provide increased reliability, remote operations and a step change in process safety- Brownfield upgrades to the Iona Gas Plant to increase processing capacity- Full control system and safety system upgrade to the IGSF.This project was executed through the challenging conditions presented by COVID-19, and was delivered within the approved budget and with a strong safety performance.

Deputy Project Manager, Engineering Manager - Halladale And Speculant Project

The $350M Halladale and Speculant Gas Development project came on-line during August 2016. The overall development was delivered to schedule, under budget and with a strong safety performance.Deputy Project Manager responsibilities:- Development of project plans, business case, cost estimates and schedules.- Interfacing with Joint Venture partners on matters related to the tolling of the gas through Otway.- Representing the project to regulators and providing leadership and direction to the team. Engineering Manager responsibilities:- Delivery of FEED and Detailed Engineering to project timelines and budget.- Procurement of all necessary equipment for free issue to the construction contractors.Following completion of engineering, the role evolved to include the responsibility for ensuring the readiness of the asset to operate the new facility. Achievements:- Successfully implemented the technical and commercial response following the detection of mercury in the raw gas. The solution resulted in a capital saving of $12M.- Managed complex multi-discipline engineering for the full scope (team of > 80 personnel with 8 direct reports). Engineering was delivered to schedule and budget and the high quality of the final product was evident in the smooth start-up and handover. - Managed the $12M procurement activity of over 60 individual packages. The quality and schedule performance met project timelines and budget.- Completed all operations readiness activities ahead of start-up (regulatory approvals, maintenance system update, information transfer, procedures and training).- Effectively managed the interface between the project and commercial team to ensure requirements of the tolling agreement were implemented. - Project managed the design and construction of the well pad and associated roads required ahead of the drilling campaign. Design, approvals, tendering and construction all completed in only 10 months and ahead of rig mobilisation.

Project Manager, Geographe Development Onshore Upgrades

OverviewThe $500M Geographe Project encompassed the tie back of the offshore Geographe field to the existing Otway Gas Plant. The project involved drilling, subsea installation and upgrades to both the offshore platform and onshore gas plantKey Roles and Responsibilities:Project Manager for the $12.5M upgrade to the Otway Gas Plant required to enable the plant to process the new field. Accountable for budget, schedule, quality, HSE and regulatory performance and managed Origin personnel and contractors to complete the works. Achievements:- Identified the need to include two additional 200 tonne LPG storage vessels into the project to ensure that the increased LPG production could be managed without increased “tank top” events which were already prevalent and causing significant lost revenue. This requirement was then justified to both Origin and Joint Venture management through demonstrating technical feasibility and commercial imperative. Following the commissioning of the additional storage, no tank top events were experienced despite peak production increasing by 20% from previous maximums.- Project delivered under budget, with a strong safety performance, and ahead of the start-up of the Geographe field.- Successfully managed engineering and construction contractors, internal project personnel and the interface with the final customer, achieving smooth handover of the new assets to the operating business. - Developed and implemented an innovative safety program at the fabrication site for the additional storage vessels. This program reduced project risk of delayed delivery, improved safety performance while also securing the lowest price for the major procurement item of the project.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:Negotiation of annual buy/sell contracts on behalf of Origin and management of key relationships with wholesale suppliers and customers. Total volume under management approximately 400,000 tonne/yr.Achievements:- Implementation of the innovative 3 year “floating storage” supply agreement with an offshore LPG trading organisation. This agreement took advantage of a period of low rates for 40,000 tonne LPG carriers to lock in a competitive supply price for 250,000 tonne/year of LPG. This agreement resulted in an annual benefit of approximately $3M, increased reliability of supply and a strategic advantage for Origin in the Australian wholesale LPG market.- Successfully managed the commencement of LPG production for the Origin Energy share in the Otway Gas Plant. Effectively managed contracts and relationships with alternate suppliers and wholesale customers so that equity production was lifted while also providing reliable diversified supply to retail customers from alternate sources.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:Managed Origin Energy’s largest LPG import terminal at Port Botany, Sydney, which had a capacity of 4,500 tonnes of LPG storage. Supervised a team of operators, maintenance personnel (internal and external) and managed an annual operating budget of approximately $3M. Accountable for site HSE, budget, maintenance, regulatory compliance, supervision of ship imports and site upgrade works..Selected Achievements:- Implemented a 3 year tank rental agreement whereby part of the terminal was leased to another party. This involved identification of required upgrades, regulatory approvals, contract negotiation and support for the implementation of the works. The capital cost of the upgrade was recouped within 12 months, thereby providing an important additional revenue stream to the site. - During EBA negotiations, improvements were agreed to site roster which improved productivity and reduced safety exposure. This was achieved through including provisions to use casual labour following permanent operators reaching maximum daily and weekly hour limits.
