Subsequent acquisition of Arris by CommScope has led me on to work with Passive Optical Networks (PON) products to support System Engineers, Sales and customers in this next era of broadband provision. This role requires a very wide range of technical knowledge ranging from various flavours of Linux and Windows, to many different video technologies, IP networking, security, virtualisation platforms (VMWare, KVM, K8s, docker) amongst others to support a diverse range of products both current and legacy.

My role was based in supporting a security product enabling encryption of video content on traditional broadcast conditional access (CAS) and Over The Top (OTT) interactive platforms.This incorporated use of DVB technologies, as well as Digital Rights Management (DRM) such as Widevine DRM, PlayReady and FairPlay.Primarily an all tier customer support role, but included a diverse range of other functions such as demos, trials, installation, testing, documentation and technical training.
