As GlobeRanger products increased in adoption in the commercial and government markets, the company split the software development team into a platform group and a solutions group. I was asked to run the solutions group which built software solutions for end customers of our partners. The group took our core platform and built turnkey solutions by extending the platform and augmenting the platform with extensions for handheld devices, new sensor devices, web sites, reporting and systems integration to back-end systems.

Led the development of GlobeRanger’s software platform, iMotion. iMotion was the core software offering that all future applications and 3rd party offerings were built on. iMotion was a Microsoft based, device agnostic software platform for processing data in a general way from 3rd party devices such as RFID, handhelds, weight sensors, temperature sensors, motion sensors, photo sensors, binary sensors and many others.Led the offshoring initiative that used an India based firm for developing extensions, adapters, plugins, libraries and accelerators for the platform. Also off-shored QA automation and testing.

Led the applications development team for GlobeRanger as a high tech startup entering the market as a supply chain & logistics tracking software company. Built interfaces to a variety of tracking technologies including GPS, satellite, cellular and paging data networks. Developed software to process wireless data from remote devices and interface them to back end systems and web interfaces.

Responsible for all technical aspects of new product development for the company. Managed the software development efforts for many product offerings including a large-scale legacy re-engineering effort to move a key software system to an enterprise grade system offering using state-of-the-art tools and technologies. Chief architect and engineer of the IWAP platform (Internet Wireless Access Portal) developing a series of software subsystems which process incoming information content from various sources using various Internet and electronic protocols. The content is processed by a filtering engine and delivered through an IWAP Gateway or other delivery protocols to text enabled wireless devices (phones, PDA's, pagers, etc.) Managed staff of 12 programmers, testers, technical writers and project managers. Production system responsible for generating over $8 million in revenue per year for the company.
