After experience as a Liability Claims Adjuster for an American Insurance Company, I went on to obtain a Law Degree, LPC (Sols) and Masters Degree in Employment Law. Not content with merely collecting qualifications, I have planned and presented training days and seminars in employment law and its practical implications for employers.In my career I have acted both for those bringing and those defending claims in tribunals. This has provided the knowledge and experience to understand the legal processes from the perspective of both sides and enabled me to assist employer clients with a thorough assessment of the strengths of their case. This “poacher turned gamekeeper” approach serves my clients well and in recent years I have worked solely on supporting, advising and representing Employers. Recognising that defending tribunal claims can appear to be a difficult and time-consuming process for busy Directors and Managers, I aim to take away as much of the stress and worry of a tribunal claim from a client as possible. This is achieved by keeping a client fully aware of developments throughout the case; and at the same time, providing an appropriate and timely range of options that address a client’s specific needs through full consultation and discussion. I have helped companies from all sectors, public and private across England, Wales and Scotland including: Cleaning Services; Sporting; Retail; Engineering, Construction; Residential Care; Entertainment; Facilities Management; Security; Food and Drink; Manufacturing; Professional Services.My work covers all aspects of employment law from: advising clients how to minimise the likelihood of a claim being brought in the first place; through representation at any hearing itself, and where necessary acting in appeals, at the Employment Appeal Tribunals in London and Edinburgh.
