In eleven years of law enforcement, I have provided unmatched service to citizens within Cobb County Georgia. I believe there is no greater “customer service” profession. Assisting with the restoration of victims’ lives is my purpose. I have overseen many successful investigations including multiple murder cases, aggravated assaults, burglaries, horrific instances of child abuse, and sexual assaults. I am proud of my commitment to advocacy groups that focus on special victims. I am active in the North Georgia Elder Abuse Task Force, GBI Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and heavily involved with SafePath, the county’s children’s advocacy center. I was the Acworth Police Department’s MOU representative with LiveSafe, bringing important elder abuse training to our agency through the National Clearinghouse on Abuse Later in Life (NCALL). I am passionate about identifying resources that assist with deterring or preventing crime such as license plate reader technology offered by Flock Safety. As the department’s project manager, I strategically designated each camera location during the installation process and continue to monitor the system to ensure efficient connectivity. I fought through local and state permitting processes to eliminate roadblocks to expand this resource. I created a community engagement event by initiating a doorbell camera giveaway sponsored by a local business. This drawing brought attention to our residential security camera database (Acworth Camera Connection). I understand the need to do more with less, relying on time management to supervise a Criminal Investigations Division and simultaneously manage a police department’s evidence room including asset forfeiture processes. Additional responsibilities include assignments of employee background investigations and Internal Affairs Investigations. In addition to a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, other development training includes: International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Public Organizations and completion of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS).I’m most proud of my role as a husband and father to my two children. I share a love of Red Sox baseball with my son and (barely) win sets against my competitive tennis playing daughter. When I’m not fighting crime I try to travel north Georgia seeking trails and chasing waterfalls (even though TLC said not to). If there’s time left, I catch up on chores on my mini farm, working harder than Mose on Dwight Schrute’s beet farm.
