Leads several complex muliti-disciplinary projects in the field of Manufacturing R&D to support the UK Nuclear industry. Was the project manager for the Sharing in Growth bundle build project for Rolls Royce where the project team was able to reduce the assembly time of a heat exchanger bundle by 80%, through the use of advanced metrology assisted assembly techniques.Is the programme manager for a series of projects associated with reducing the manufacturing costs of ILW waste containers for Sellafield. The projects include welding process optimisation, welding automation, machining optimisation, innovative stress relief technologies, automated inspection and design for manufacture.Is the the Theme leader for the advanced machining theme of the NNUMAN programme. NNUMAN is a collaboration between the University of Manchester, the University of Sheffield and key nuclear industrial partners such as Rolls Royce, Areva and Sellafield Ltd. The programme is investigating advanced manufacturing methods to assist future the future nuclear new build and decommissioning programmes.

Senior Mechanical Engineer for the BEPPS/CIEF project. BEPPS/CIEF. Led the design of 'in-cell' mechanical equipment for a highly radioactive environment. Was responsible for ensuring designs were 'fit for purpose' and suitable to allow safe operation of the BEPPS/CIEF facility. Was in charge of a team of design engineers in preparation of design drawings, calculations and functional specifications. Chaired design reviews and presented the design solution to the Responsible Engineer and to the Sellafield Ltd mechanical capability group for final design 'buy off'.
