The BJA is the National Governing Body (NGB) for Judo in the UK. In April 2010 I was given the additional responsibility of managing the IT and the Membership Departments. Key responsibilities. •Full Financial and Administrative responsibility, acting as the Finance Representative of the Executive Team. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, CEO, the Board, the membership (clubs) as well as our licence holders and our key funding partners UK Sport and Sport England. •3 key reports and overall team of 12; developing training and development for staff as appropriate. •Producing detailed quarterly management reports including (but not limited to) Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow Statements, ad-hoc reports at the request UK Sport, Sport England and others. •All payroll, VAT and Corporate Tax matters, including statutory reporting, and communicating with relevant government departments and staff. •Liaising with auditors and accountants both internally and externally appointed to produce annual audited Financial Statements, and preparing the Financial Report element of the Annual Report. •Liaising with auditors on Self Assurance and Governance Matters (AHL/Moore Stephens). •Key staff member in Self Assurance Governance Process. Strategic business planning •Directly involved with significant strategic decisions and planning as a key member of the management team. •Creating new relationships and building on existing relationships with key funders, suppliers and professional advisors. •Preparing full trading budget annually.
