Drafting Manager specializing in Curtain Walls, Storefronts and Windows.

Control day to day processes within the Architectural Drafting and Design Department to include: • Prepare material and information for daily lectures.• Partake in creating and updating syllabus content• Meeting with perspective students to provide a course overview and answer questions and concerns• Insure compliance with accreditation is being maintained• Maintain daily attendance logs of students.• Provide guidance, encouragement and instruction and discipline to students during project progression.• Grading of completed student works to insure standard practices and direction are being adhered to.• Meet with students regularly to insure they are contented with the course to help minimize attrition.• Instruct students on Best Practice methods of construction for the various types of drawings.• Attend weekly Staff Meetings to discuss student issues.• Attend monthly Curriculum Meetings with other Campuses to discuss current curriculum adaptations and provide new curriculum objectives.• Prepare and submit new lesson plans to keep up with current trends and expected knowledge of drafters.• Attend continuing education training courses and seminars to build upon knowledge base. Attend at least four occurrences per year.• Coordinate bi-annual meetings with local professionals and business owners to discuss school’s curriculum and ways to improve it to meet local demands within the industry.

Assisting Engineer of Record with the following duties:• Qualifying potential clients.• Attend design meetings with potential and established clients.• Complete building code and zoning reviews.• Meet with Town Engineers, Building & Planning Officials and Conservation members to discuss project and any concerns.• Create design drawings to prepare for permitting process.• Assist in providing permitting for Zoning, Site Plan Approval and Conservation to include completing and filing of applications.• Presentation of projects to boards and public forums.• Create detailed architectural drawings for design review with clients and ultimately for sub-contractor bidding.• Communicate with Project Manager to create Construction Schedule.• Review job specifications with engineers and update accordingly.• Prepare bid packages and review with sub-contractors.• Aid in resolving issues that arise on site to include any concerns or change orders requested by client during construction phase.• Visit site regularly to review progress and prepare construction control reports for Building Inspectors.

• Responsibilities encompassed drafting and project management of granite and pre-cast construction projects.
