Develops strategic priorities aligning Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands and Service Headquarters for information technology resourcing and acquisitions.

Defined strategic priorities aligning Department of Defense direction to shape resourcing decisions and synchronize timing/efforts.

Lieutenant Colonel David E. Sumera, Jr. is the commander of the 633d Communications Squadron at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He commands more than 300 personnel providing communications and information technology for deployment operations and mission sustainment to Headquarters Air Combat Command, 4 Wings and 30 mission partners at Langley, and combat-ready forces to perform force bed down mission sustainment at locations across the globe.

Led 8 personnel in developing air component strategies that promote and build strategic alliances in the European area of responsibility. Advised and shaped US European Command and US Air Forces Europe strategy within regional/country campaign plans into building partnerships events for 51 nations. Coordinated engagement efforts with tasked units, embassies, and host nation to strengthen alliances and enhance security cooperation in the European theater.
