David is the CEO and Founder of Maturious. Maturious core purpose is to create employment for all ages by eliminating ageism and bias in talent assessment and hiring practices to create equal employment opportunities for mature age women and men based on merit. David works with a diverse range of company leaders who recognise the need to make their recruitment efforts more objective and efficient and avoid the recurring risks of trying to fill ever-changing talent gaps from a smaller candidate pool that often lacks the capabilities they require. As a result, these companies, he says are broadening their definition of talent and looking for mature aged individuals who have “learnability” - the desire to continually grow and adapt their transferable capabilities to remain employable for the long-term. Importantly, they see a strategic advantage in expanding their talent pool to include a larger percentage of the mature aged workforce. Enabling them to build a multi-generational workforce that is reflective of their customers and the broader Australian society. He believes the mature aged workforce are fundamental drivers of our economy and will be central to the future of work. And that won’t change. What will change are the types of jobs we do and the capabilities we need to succeed in them. The future of talent and work are interdependent. He thinks companies need to urgently take more heed of the mature aged workforce and the implications for the future of work and look to develop new employment models to enable the opportunities and benefits of the mature aged workforce.
