In addition, provides a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.Equipment & MaintenanceOversees major projects including manpower, equipment, down time and time line. This requires working closely with the Maintenance Manager.Inventory & Quality ControlPeriodically test commodities for shrink and acceptable quality.Ensures operations stays within acceptable quality and quantity of inventory to meet internal standardsAdministrative ManagementReviews performance of employees.Monitors supervisory practices to ensure compliance with HR policies, union contracts and for maintaining an acceptable level of morale throughout the yard.ShiploadingDirects, coordinates and evaluates shiploading and barge operations. Reviews and evaluates shiploading and barge operations with Terminal Operations Manager.Supervises yard and shear personnel in preparing scrap for shipment to customers.Coordinates, sets up, schedules, and manages production employees so that work-in-process is done cost effectively and at competitive levels.Maintains/manages Port Security as it pertains to local laws, the Coast Guard and Homeland Security.ShredderOversees and reports on shift production.Communicates maintenance requirements to Shredder Manager and Maintenance Manager.Scale OperationsOversees truck and rail scale activities on the night shift.Port SecurityMaintains contracts with outside security company.Deals with physical security breaches on an as needed basis.
