Greater Hartford

During my last semester at the University of Connecticut, I was selected for an internship with CT DEEP that involved analyzing core samples to produce boring logs used for mapping Hammonasset Beach State Park. I identified and catalogued the rock that I collected in the field to investigate an area where outcrop exposure did not provide sufficient evidence for a bedrock map. I presented my research at my University’s annual Geoscience Symposium and prepared a poster for the 2017 Northeast Geological Society of America Conference.

As mail manager, I supervised a staff of 100+ student employees and oversaw the operation of 9 mailrooms and 24-hour lockout response. My daily activities included offering fast and proactive customer service when corresponding with parents and students. I was involved with the implementation of a new mail delivery system for the UConn Storrs campus that was designed to streamline the delivery process to meet rising demands of the 20,000+ student population. As a part of this, I was required to train employees on new software and hardware, and I served as the point of contact between the Mail Services warehouse staff and the Residential Mailroom staff.
