David is an M&A specialist with a strong track record of over 25 years’ experience advising clients (mainly private business owners) and managing transactions across a broad range of industries and jurisdictions.David has extensive experience in lead advisory transactions, including business divestitures and acquisitions, corporate recovery, private equity and valuations. He has a unique and varied background gained in senior roles with financial institutions and professional services firms both in Australia and overseas.Prior to establishing Tyrrell Advisory, David co-founded Lawson Advisory Partners, and was previously Director of Corporate Advisory at Deloitte Private, Director at McGrathNicol (where inter-alia he led the sales team in relation to the divestment of the various businesses comprising Nylex Limited), Director at National Australia Bank (where he headed up the newly established Succession Services team in Melbourne – an M&A unit advising corporate and business banking customers) and Director at KPMG Corporate Finance (where he headed up the Middle Market M&A Group in Melbourne).David possesses a range of analytical, communication, negotiation, presentation and management skills and has a proven track record in advising on, and completing, a range of acquisition and divestment transactions across a wide range of industry sectors in Australia, United Kingdom, United States, New Zealand, Poland, Hungary and Hong Kong.David holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne and is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. David was a Director of the Scotch College Board for six years between 2009 - 2014.David enjoys golf and keeping fit and is a proud Richmond supporter.
