Noble House is a company that restores exclusive classic cars, mainly Aston Martin as Noble House is one of the few official Aston Martin Heritage dealers in the world. I am responsible for reverse engineering of car parts and redesigning body and chassis parts that are not available anymore by Aston Martin. Also rapid prototyping with 3D printed parts is a part of the job.

I teach from beginner to advanced level and I am also the DJ at the parties of our dance school. As a result I have expanded my communication skills for transferring knowledge to others.

The thesis describes the optimization of an RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) machine, to be used with a new type of epoxy resin. This resin is tested with several kinds of static mixers, where after the RTM machine is optimized for the use in batch production. As a result I gained more knowledge of RTM processes, composite testing, FEM analysis and composite techniques in general.

After my internship, I started to work as a full time project engineer on the realisation of a production plant for composite pressure vessels. As a result I gained knowledge of aramid fibres and polyurethane materials after frequent testing as well as setting up a production plant.

The assignment was to test various sizings on different aramid fibres. The tests involved destructive and non-destructive tests to compare mechanical properties of aramid laminates with different sizings.

Dealing with logistics and assisting customers. This was a part time job.

EUROAVIA is the European Association of Aerospace Students, representing the interests of over 2000 students from 38 universities in 19 European countries. Established in 1959, EUROAVIA wants to be a bridge between companies, universities and students. I have been secretary of the local board for two consecutive academic years, almost full time. As a result I expanded my communicative skills e.a. by organizing and leading meetings. I also organised several trips to different cities in Europe to visit aerospace universities and companies. EUROAVIA has organized many different workshops, symposiums and fly-inns all over Europe which I frequently attended.

Maintaining Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 full motion simulators and fixing both hardware and software issues. This was also a part time job. As a result I gained knowledge of the technique behind flight simulators and airplane cockpits.

During this internship I started building my own sports aircraft. This RV-8 designed by Van’s Aircraft in the USA, is a two seated airplane entirely made of aluminium. In the period of half a year, I have finished the vertical- and horizontal stabiliser as well as the wings. As a result I have a good understanding of how an airplane is built and how to work as an airplane sheet metal worker.

During this internship I was building structures made out of composite materials like shaping moulds and building products. As a result I gained knowledge of composite moulding, especially Resin Transfer Moulding techniques and producing composite products.

Most of the time I was serving the restaurant and serving at private parties. As a result I learned how to deal with different kind of people, how to be a host and developed communicative skills.
