As lead engineer I am responsible for all engineering developments for one of our largest customers within Greene Tweed’s Oilfield business group. This includes giving technical support to the engineering team and the sales organisation from project conception to completion and final approval of designs. Typically I am involved in the design of electrical bulkhead connectors and sealing systems which can handle 30,000psi (2000bar) and 500F (260degC) in extreme downhole conditions. I… Show more As lead engineer I am responsible for all engineering developments for one of our largest customers within Greene Tweed’s Oilfield business group. This includes giving technical support to the engineering team and the sales organisation from project conception to completion and final approval of designs. Typically I am involved in the design of electrical bulkhead connectors and sealing systems which can handle 30,000psi (2000bar) and 500F (260degC) in extreme downhole conditions. I work closely with the customers and ensure that the engineering team are meeting customer requirements through monitoring and prioritisation. Additionally I am tasked with understanding customers’ tools and Greene Tweed’s technology to proactively look for business opportunities. Show less

As a member of the commercial engineering team my role predominantly involved designing high precision fixtures and instrumentation specifically to customer requirements. I have been solely responsible for the management of a number of projects worth around £250k working closely with customers and external contractors. Some customers include Ford, Delphi, Caterpillar and Bosch. Other roles include supporting core development and I have undertaken major development projects for some of Taylor… Show more As a member of the commercial engineering team my role predominantly involved designing high precision fixtures and instrumentation specifically to customer requirements. I have been solely responsible for the management of a number of projects worth around £250k working closely with customers and external contractors. Some customers include Ford, Delphi, Caterpillar and Bosch. Other roles include supporting core development and I have undertaken major development projects for some of Taylor Hobson’s main instruments. During my time at Taylor Hobson I have put emphasis on the use of student engineers to reinforce the engineering team and have successfully created partnerships between Taylor Hobson and Loughborough University. Internally I have mentored apprentice engineers and feel that this has helped improve my man management skills. Show less
