I became a member of Lancashire Constabulary in 2006, serving in various detective roles before developing a keen interest in fraud and money laundering. In 2014, I conducted an investigation involving Senior Managers at Edge Hill University, which revealed a £500,000 fraud, leading to counter allegations of a £40,000,000 fraud against HM Treasury. The case attracted parliamentary attention due to intricate funding streams and loss to the public purse. Eventually, the offenders were convicted, and their assets were utilised to compensate the victim.In 2017, I joined the Economic Crime Unit, where I actively participated in numerous Fraud and Money Laundering cases, honing my asset recovery skills in the civil arena. Presently, as a Detective Sergeant, I assume the leadership of the Fraud Unit for Lancashire Constabulary.Following the successful "Op Eucalyptus" convictions for a $40,000,000 cryptocurrency fraud and money laundering, I have been invited to talk at events and provide training for the CPS, FCA and SocEx conferences.
