Watercare is aiming to reduce carbon in infrastructure by 40 per cent by 2024, to reduce the cost of its infrastructure programme by 20 per cent by 2024 and to improve the health, safety and well-being of all people involved in delivering our infrastructure by 20 per cent year-on-year. Head of Plan & Design reporting to Chief Infrastructure Officer responsible for delivering capital programme cNZ$500M / annum including all capital planning and design, publishing of the Asset Management Plan, technical standards and Project Management Office functions

Infrastructure Delivery Design Management (Tier 3 role) – responsible for design delivery of NZ$300M / annum Capital Programme

I was responsible for the delivery of the Resource Management Act application, resolving appeals through the Environment Court and developing the concept design through to full detailed design of a 13km 4.5m diameter, NZ$1B wastewater and combined sewage conveyance and storage tunnel in central Auckland.

Waikato Water Treatment Plant Expansion - I was responsible for the design and construction management of the plant expansion from 75MLD to 125MLD which was undertaken without interruption to water production. This work ensured Auckland did not suffer drought throughout the summer periods of 2012, 2013 and 2014 which badly affected other parts of the country. The plant employs ultrafiltration methods and is the country’s largest of its type. Northern Interceptor - I was responsible for advancing the initial design of a major wastewater interceptor to compliment the proposed central interceptor project
