NSRC was created as a new State of Florida Agency on July 1, 2009. As the Executive Director of a Primary Data Center I was responsible for data center management and operations, security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, system administration, database administration, system programming, job control, production control, storage, technical support and help desk services. NSRC is the largest data center in the state of Florida government. This data center maintains an IBM Sysplex, which is made up of 4 IBM mainframes of 3100 MIPS capacity. We currently are running over 700 servers, both windows OS and Linux OS. I oversaw a projected billing budget of 28 million dollars. I had over 100 employees and contract staff. I was appointed by and report directly to a Board of Trustees that was made up of the member Agencies for which we provided services. My primary responsibilities included the day to day operations of the data center as well as management of all financial/budgetary responsibilities. I was in constant relations with all vendors that provide products to the data center in search of ways to reduce cost to my customers. I was responsible for creating a strategic plan that would carry the data center into the future of technology while at the same time reducing the cost of operations thus reducing the price of services to customers. Northwood Shared Resource Center is scheduled to divest from DCF effective July 1, 2009. My position responsibilities were to serve as the primary interface for DCF with all Agencies that are currently customers of the DCF data center, as well as external agencies, Governor’s office, AEIT and other organizations as needed concerning the operational migration from the DCF Data Center to the State of Florida Northwood Shared Resource Center (NSRC). I provided weekly briefings to the Assistant Secretary for Administration, DCF and the Chief Information Officer, DCF, as well as The CIO for the State of Florida.My tasks required senior level involvement and extensive knowledge of the existing environment, as well as extensive planning and cooperation with all Agencies that are either current or future customers of the NSRC. I was responsible for assuring that all requirements listed in the legislation were followed as well as suggesting recommendations for any needed refinements to existing statutes for the purposes of successfully implementing the NSRC.

Production Services has the largest data center in the state of Florida government. I was responsible for all mainframe as well as mid range server environments for the department. Within my responsibility also included the department's data network for the entire state, job scheduling and operations section and tier two desktop support for the data center and headquarters complex. My section operated 24/7, 365 days a year. I managed seven managers and 130 systems technicians that covered my areas of responsibility.

In Network Systems my primary responsibilities were managing the installation and tuning of the Department's communication network hardware and software. Managing the testing and certification of new workstations and the ability for them to utilize all of the Department's communication client packages. I was the primary network consultant to all Department sections, other agencies and private industry groups. Additional responsibilities include technical specifications of hardware and software. Spent time providing technical assistance on any communication related problem. Last two years served as the Production Services liaison to the HomeSafe Net project. In Network Control my primary responsibilities included installation, maintenance, and tuning of Department's communication hardware and software. These packages consisted of VTAM, NCP, TCP/IP, Netview, and NetSpy. Preformed the Agency's day-to-day configuration changes for over 35,000 terminals on approximately 1,034 controllers.Additional duties for the Department consist of network capacity and performance planning. This would allow planning and anticipation of growth for the data network on an average of 15% per year. My goal was to deliver network response time in less than a 1.5 second average.

Primary duties consist of installing maintenance and tuning of corporate communication software to include ACF/VTAM/NCP to cover three U.S. data centers and two International centers. This also included communication monitoring software to include Netview and NPM.
