Reporting to the Managing Director/Owner and responsible for all aspects of an asset holding and timber production business. Reacted to 2008/9 GFC by rapidly restructuring and downsizing. Subsequently developed and implemented a growth strategy to build revenue 250%, from $8m in 2010, to over $21m in 2018, as well as increasing equity held in assets. Introduced modern HR, HSE and business systems. Overall responsibility for 70 full time employees. This employment ended due to family members assuming the company management role.

Whangarei District, Northland, New Zealand

Employed as Engineering Manager until 2001, and then promoted to Regional Operations Manager. Managed the Whangarei port-side production facility for sulphuric-acid, superphosphate and electricity, in addition to agricultural chemical distribution stores operated throughout Northland. This role involved autonomous business unit management, with reporting to a remote corporate headquarters. Annual revenues $40 m, with 80 employees.

Kawerau, Bay Of Plenty, New Zealand

Following a 2 year post graduate engineering experience program, undertook design and management of processing equipment expansion projects, sized between $1.5m and $28m. Coordinated multiple trades of up to 200 people during construction works. Spent two years working in high hazard control projects in the chemical plants and then moved to operations. The operations role supervised a 24/7 pulping and bleaching plant, a with daily production output value of $1m per day. Obtained IPENZ Registered Engineer status in 1991. (relinquished 2004).
