My current teaching position is for 6th – 12th vocal music. My responsibilities include teaching choral music for two choirs, 6th-8th and 9th-12th and lessons for these students. Other teaching assignments include the creation and curriculum development for a music performance class that focuses on music theater and production aspects of the music business. Other responsibilities have included directing musicals and variety shows during my tenure. My students have received superior ratings at solo and ensemble contests. Other events students have participated in include All-State Choir, Iowa State Honor Choir, Opus, Meet the Composer, and various festival and conference choirs.

Urbandale, Iowa

I am responsible for giving leadership and directing the adult choir. Other responsibilities have included directing the high school choir, middle school age choir and a middle school bell choir. I have also started an orchestra and brass group at this church. I arrange music for these groups as well.

As a licensed minister of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ, my primary responsibilities were the music ministry of the church. Also, regular hospital calls and assimilating new members were part of my portfolio. Pastoral ministry in the absence of the senior minister included preaching, hospital calls, funerals and weddings. Music ministry of the church involved directing the Adult Chancel choir, youth choirs, and children choirs, handbell choirs (youth & adult). I developed the Wakonda Orchestra and Rock Solid Singers which is a contemporary praise and worship group. I developed Community of Caring, a ministry to help members stay connected to the church. The elders of the church play a primary role in this ministry.I have also been a camp counselor for the Upper Midwest Camp program. I have mainly worked with CYF (High school age youth).

I coordinated Christian Education programs through Sunday school, Bible studies, Vacation Bible School and summer camp programs. I developed the junior and senior high youth programs to participate in the life of the church, locally, district wide and regionally.The Music Ministry of the church included directing the Adult Chancel choir, two children choirs, an inter-generational handbell choir, a chime group and a men’s quartet. I formed the Christian Youth Orchestra which included 30 junior and senior high youth that played seven times a year.I also was a camp instructor numerous years and co-directed the Oklahoma Regional Fine Arts Camp for two years. At the 1997 General Assembly of the Christian Church, this Fine Arts group performed the musical, “Any Road, Any Cost.”
