The Charge Description Master (CDM) Analyst is primarily responsible for maintaining, monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing the CDMs. Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with facilities personnel, information system staff, revenue integrity staff, management and preferred vendors. Process and maintain timely turnaround for all CDM requests. Ensure that all additions, changes and deletions are consistent and compliant with Corporate standards, Federal and State guidelines. Serves as a resource when necessary, provides assistance and analysis to all departments in support of suggested, requested and/or mandated changes to the CDMs. Conducts quarterly review of the CDMs against Corporate standards and performs annual audit of the CDMs as appropriate.Coordinates monitors and approves all changes made to the CDMs. Process requests for new code additions, code set corrections, revenue code to CPT/HCPCS code mismatch corrections, appropriate dose and unit of measure for pharmacy items, and on‐going identified changes for current systems to maintain compliance with corporate standards, state and federal regulatory agencies. Analyze data within the CDM and resolve errors as appropriate to ensure accurate assignment of revenue codes and CPT/HCPCS, to preserve the integrity of the CDM and related systems. Ensures proper maintenance of the CDM and related processes. Maintains current working knowledge of federal and state regulations. Maintain a working knowledge of revenue cycle process to aid in the implementation of processes and procedures that support compliance with billing guidelines. Participates in ongoing coordination and resolution of revenue issues as they arise. Participates in new system implementations as necessary to support revenue integrity and appropriate charge capture. Assists the Charge Master Manager in annual coding review and processing of updates.
