Particular highlights included the volcano flight crisis in 2010 and relocating UK hub operations from Coventry Airport to Birmingham Airport with 2 days notice, also in 2010.This grew to a £25m business, which gained Regulated Agent status in each country (surprisingly different process by country) and built fully owned ground operations at each Airport, as concepts adopted with my input. I was also involved in upgrading the aircraft type ex Maastricht to an 8 tonne APT due to increased volumes and initiating a new daily flight from Lille to Coventry completely from scratch to support the agricultural spares and fork lift truck spares market sector.

Network Director (A Non Board Position)National Courier Network Jul 2004 - Dec 2004Birmingham, United KingdomThis was a short term role restructuring a £60m failing business.NCN was a parcel delivery business grouping together 130 independent courier companies into one entity.I was responsible for strengthening the independent courier network and trying to widen the service offering, through managing, sourcing and changing delivery partners. Despite some initial success and working with some tremendous partner companies, the underlying financial situation within the business did not allow time to recover the company.When the owners put the business into administration (which had long been planned I now understand) I migrated >£10m of this business to LYNX Express (contrary to the plan of the owners). I completed a temporary assignment back at LYNX Express for 3 months, having agreed a plan to transfer as much business as possible by bringing together independent courier companies and LYNX Express Senior Management, working mainly with John Sansby and David Burtenshaw, which worked very well given the sale of LYNX to UPS, shortly afterwards. -

Service Director (Main Board And Pensions Trustee)Orridge Aug 2001 - May 2003AldridgeThis was a key role within the Senior team of Venture Capitalist backed MBOResponsible for Operations/HR within the leading stocktaking business in the UK (£14m).Over 1200 counting staff had to be scheduled to count stock in different retail stores (approx. 50 stores per day), plus a high degree of system integration was required to compare electronic stock levels.I was responsible for Operational, IT development and HR teams within the business, which included the migration of 1000 PAYE employees to Worker status. I was involved in the negotiations and due diligence surrounding the eventual sale of the business to Christie Group plc in 2003 and exited the new Christie led venture after the sale of the business. -
