David Williams, Jr. grew up in Wake Forest. He is a 1994 graduate of Wake Forest-Rolesville High School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography with a concentration in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He received his North Carolina General Contractor’s license in May of 1998. David received his training from respected local contractors and tradesmen. Beginning at age 16, he worked as a general laborer with Gould Construction, and at age 18, he began working summers for Mitchell Heating and Cooling as an installation technician. David worked one summer for Act Electric as an electrician’s helper, and as an assistant superintendent for Millridge Investments. He also served as Wake Forest Fire Chief from 2004 through 2006. In 1999, David formed and developed Williams Custom Building, Inc. He took Williams Custom Building from a startup company with an annual gross income of $110K to a well-established, successful construction company with a current gross income of $1.5 million. In addition to Williams Custom Building, David also owns and/or partners in many successful construction and real-estate companies including; Triangle Waste Service, Inc., 11 Investments, LLC, W and W Properties, LLC, Heritage Professional Partners II, LLC, Energy Efficiency Consultants, LLC, Triangle Asset Group and Willfair, Inc. David has taken part in every aspect of the residential side of construction from home improvements through subdivision development and commercial development.
