As Investigator In Charge, I take on ownership of the investigation, managing resources, compiling and analysing data, coordinating with subject matter experts, liaising with involved parties and authorship of the investigation report. These investigation reports are publicly released via the ATSB website.The ATSB is an independent Commonwealth Government statutory agency which function is to improve safety and public confidence in the aviation, marine and rail modes of transport through independent investigation of transport accidents and other safety occurrences, safety data recording, analysis and research, and fostering safety awareness, knowledge and action.

In this role as Chief Pilot I was the company’s point of contact for the regulator, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. I developed and implemented the company Operations Manual ensuring the company aircraft and operations were at all times safe and compliant with all Civil Aviation Safety Regulations. I was solely responsible for the induction, training and oversight of all staff members along with the daily scheduling of operations. I was also responsible for the ongoing serviceability of the company’s fleet of four aircraft, this involved liaising between the company owner and third party service providers to ensure the efficient operation of the business. During my time as Chief Pilot I implemented marketing strategies and refocused the company which lead to a four-fold increase in revenue.
