My wife and I started Awakened Images to pursue photographing equestrian events. We photographed dozens of events in the first couple years and eventually ended up photographing the Olympic Eventing competitors in Richland, MI! After a couple of seasons photographing equestrian events we decided to pursue high school senior photography and wedding photography. Since then we have photographed somewhere around 100 weddings, 100 high school seniors and around 150 families. My wife has taken the helm over the last couple of the years and continues to offer exception photography for infants, children, families, high school seniors and weddings. I still photograph weddings as a second photographer and provide technical support for the business but the vast majority of the business is now being run by my wife. In November of 2014 I registered my own business to offer services of computer programming. I started teaching myself the Swift programming language, (created by Apple), and created 4 iPhone / iPad apps that I launched into the app store. I really have fun with mobile development and is such a rewarding experience to see people using my creations on their own devices.As most other programmers I've branched out into different technologies and languages. There is a technology called Xamarin which provides the much needed solution of cross-platform mobile development. I started learning C# and XAML and working on developing mobile apps that can developed in one environment and deployed to both Android Devices and iOS Devices, (and Windows Phone), using a very large percentage of code re-use. If you are looking to create applications across multiple platforms I would encourage you to strongly consider a Xamarin based solution!The amazing thing about learning C# and XAML is that I have also been able to branch our into Desktop Application Development using Microsoft Visual Studio and WPF, (Windows Presentation Foundation). My latest project was to create a program that would display real time productivity information on 50" televisions for a production line environment alongside tools that would allow those same tv's to cycle through important Human Resources documents and announcements for the employees to see.I've also found a great interest in Web Development since's I've gotten started programming, especially as it related to responsive site development to better support the vast array of devices that browse the internet. I am taking a broad approach to web development, learning the foundational languages of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL, (along with their associated frameworks like jQuery), but also learning to build sites with WordPress, which offers a very solid Content Management System baked right in.

My role in the IT Department was to manage various MS SQL Server Databases, verify data and create reports and analysis using MS SQL Server Reporting Services and Crystal Reports. I also assisted in managing all PCs, Printers, Fax Machines, Conveyor Systems, Intermec Handheld Data Collection Devices and the Server Stack. I really enjoyed being part of a team of process engineering and efficiency enhancement. Other responsibilities included employee training in technical aspects of the workplace including MS Office Suite, Reporting Software and various communication methods and tools.
