2Nd Line Engineer
Onsite Field & 2Nd Line Helpdesk Technician
For the past six month at ITFirst I worked as a 2nd Line support technician on their helpdesk resolving tickets remotely on by traveling onsite as needed while also working on projects such as Migration to Office 365 or the deployment of Mimecast while keeping an accurate log of time for billing purposes and that SLAs are met.
2Nd Line Technician / Onsite Field Engineer
For the two years previous at Logic1st I have had two separate roles. My primary role was that of an Onsite Installation and Support technician working across the United Kingdom performing upgrades or complete site installations. The majority of projects were replacing old SBS 2003/SBS 2008 with the more modern SBS 2011 systems (Replacing XP workstation with MS Window 7 Pro as appropriate). In ensuring a minimum downtime for the office while ensuring that all documents, Emails, telephone systems and any bespoke application software was correctly transferred and working on the new domain. With end of life of the SBS 2011 system and the SBS system as a whole, I moved to installing window Server 2012 R2 essentials running in an hyper-V environment (Server 2012 R2 Essentials with the Essentials feature removed as host) to support secondary Linux database environment and windows 7 environment for any telecom system and incorporating Office 365 for the office emails. During the past two years I have been onsite to over 100 offices including the Channel 5 building and have worked in the secure environment of an MOD contractor. I also operate as a senior member of the Second Line Support Team resolving ‘Priority One Down Jobs’ and resolving cases that have been escalated from the First and Second line teams, or generated from monitoring Microsoft SCOM to meet SLA targets. I also create detailed case write-ups in the Microsoft Dynamic CRM environment. I also supported and trained the other technicians and was responsible for organising team events such as work socials.
