Java Enterprise SoftwareMobile Synchronization: Developed a Mobile Synchronization Framework with support for transactions, extensibility, integration, and backward compatibility. Rewrote and generalized the Quote Synchronization module. Wrote a prototype Oracle Lite DB synchronization module using JNI. Improved performance of file synchronization by a factor of 10.Role-Based Security: Drove the design of a security capability for Quote Server. Designed the role-based E-R diagram that evolved into the Selectica Security Schema.SQL Parser: Used JAVACC to develop an SQL parser to simulate database queries in client file storage.Features: Developed many Quote Server features, including attachments, documents, atomicity, aggregation, ID generation, quote listing, and security.Test Tools: Developed an automatic test framework based on JUNIT and ANT for use by developers and test engineers. Implemented hundreds of tests for this framework.Documents: Wrote many engineering documents, including feature specifications, design documents, problem statements, and prototype user documents.

Chemical Instruments, C, C++, Java, LC/MS, CombiChemDeveloped a multithreaded Java COM server to communicate with a mass spectrometer. Wrote code to calculate compound purity for a combinatorial chemistry application. Wrote background-subtraction code for data analysis.

Chemical Instruments, C++, MFC, NT, RS232, LC/MS, GC/MSDeveloped instrument-control, user-interface, RS232, and data-storage software for scientific instruments, including GC/MS, LC/MS, and autosampler. Rewrote the mass spectrometer driver. Wrote a gas chromatograph driver and an autosampler driver. Developed a balanced, tree-structured data file to efficiently access large amounts of spectral data.

Hardware Diagnostics.Serial Communications: Developed an RS232 OSI protocol to redirect BIOS video, keyboard and floppy IO to a remote PC to enable remote booting, remote terminal, and remote diagnostics.PC Libraries and Diagnostics: Used WIN32 to develop a framework for multitasking diagnostic programs. Wrote SCSI tape diagnostics, VGA video diagnostics, TMS34010 video diagnostics. Wrote user-interface, run-time libraries, and automatic test environment for manufacturing PCs.MIPS O/S, libraries, diagnostics: Developed a multitasking diagnostic OS for a MIPS R4000 workstation, including memory management, process management, interrupt management, interprocess communication, shared memory, device drivers, runtime libraries, user interface, and automatic test framework.Wrote the diagnostics user manual.
