I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department of Brigham Young University.My research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning, probabilistic programming, probabilistic inference, and stochastic hardware. I'm developing end-to-end toolchains that allow users to define high-level probabilistic models, and "compile"​ them all the way down to special purpose hardware accelerators.I'm also passionate about agent-style AI, and the core themes of perception, control and cognition, and how all three have synergistic effects on learning.
