• Bioterrorism Risk Assessment - As Deputy Project Manager for the Bioterrorism Risk Assessment (BTRA) program on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate, part of management team that leads multi-million dollar technical efforts applying probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) to quantify the threat of biological terrorism to the US homeland to aid in the development and prioritization of risk mitigation strategies.• Public Health Response Modeling - In support of on-going DHS terrorism risk assessments, manage efforts to mathematically model and quantify the impact of the public health response system following a biological or chemical attack on the US homeland.• Economic Consequence Modeling - In support of on-going DHS terrorism risk assessments, manage efforts to model and quantify the economic impact of a biological, chemical, radiological, or nuclear attack on the US homeland.• Chemical Exposure Guideline Development - Execute roles of Project Manager and Principal Investigator in support of Army Public Health Center (Provisional) efforts to 1) establish guidelines pertaining to the long-term health effects of acute TIC/TIM exposures and 2) develop Next Generation Military Exposure Guidelines.

• Bioterrorism Risk Assessment - As Deputy Project Manager for the Bioterrorism Risk Assessment (BTRA) program on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate, part of management team that led performance of multi-million dollar technical efforts applying probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) to quantify the threat of biological terrorism to the US homeland in order to aid in development and prioritization of risk mitigation strategies.• Integrated Consortium of Laboratory Networks (ICLN) Laboratory Risk Assessment (ILRA) - As Project Manager for the ICLN ILRA program on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate, led efforts to investigate laboratory capabilities and capacity for responding to a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear terrorist attack against the US homeland.• Public Health Response Modeling - In support of on-going DHS terrorism risk assessments, managed and served as technical lead of efforts to mathematically model and quantify the impact of the public health response system following a biological or chemical attack on the US homeland.• Economic Consequence Modeling - In support of on-going DHS terrorism risk assessments, managed efforts to model and quantify the economic impact of a biological, chemical, radiological, or nuclear attack on the US homeland.• Chemical Exposure Guideline Development - Executed roles of Project Manager and Principal Investigator in support of Army Public Health Center (Provisional) efforts to 1) establish guidelines pertaining to the long-term health effects of acute toxic industrial chemical (TIC)/toxic industrial material (TIM) exposures and 2) complete a series of literature reviews and probit analyses for multiple chemicals to aid in the revision of existing guidelines for acute effects of acute exposures to TICs/TIMs.

• Development of a Human Scent Collection System - As Project Manager, led an effort to design and test a human scent collection device. The device collects human scent by sampling the volatiles profile from a piece of evidence onto a pad, which a trained canine can then use to begin trailing the person of interest.• Canister Qualification Testing - Served as a deputy project manager in leading an effort to qualify the performance of new and environmentally exposed respiratory filters against a variety of toxic industrial chemicals. Responsibilities included development of the test plan, conducting laboratory test efforts, establishing a schedule, managing and directing staff in the laboratory, monitoring and controlling against cost and schedule, and compiling written deliverables.• Detection Canine Field Assessments - Participated in various efforts aimed at assessing and improving the effectiveness of explosives detection canine teams when screening air cargo and mail. Responsibilities included leading field trials, data collection, data analysis, and reporting of the results.

• Integration and Testing of End-of-Service-Life Indicator (ESLI) for Respiratory Filters - Performed laboratory tests to assess performance of ESLI concept for respiratory filters. Evaluations included filter gas-life testing with a variety of toxic chemicals. Exposure to common battlefield contaminants and adverse environments were also characterized.• Human Factors of Closed-Circuit Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus - Coordinated and performed research, analysis, and reporting of various aspects of closed-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus. Specific topics of investigation included the cooling system, the carbon dioxide scrubber, and the means of oxygen supply or generation.
