I am 39 years old and live with my fiancee Charlotte. I enjoy cinema outings with friends in my spare time and going for meals with Charlotte and other members of my family. I enjoy my role for the police and it is very rewarding when we bring offenders to justice. I managed to obtain my law degree whilst working full time and looking back now, I wonder how I managed it!

  I have been working for Derbyshire Constabulary for 17 years now. I began as a Station Enquiry Officer, dealing with various enquiries from members of the public visiting the police station. In 2008, I moved to Criminal Data Section at Ripley where I processed paperwork from the custody suite and also court results. In 2010, I continued this role but based in Derby. In 2013, I moved to Crown Court Support at Ripley where I liaised with the CPS, Crown Court and frontline officers to ensure all work was completed in time for court hearings and in accordance with CPS deadlines. Between 2015 and 2018, I was a Special Constable based at Matlock Police Station with attachments to Roads Policing. This gave me a taste of frontline policing, including arresting suspects and dealing with public order incidents. In 2018, I became a Detective Staff Investigator and in this role I perform the same duties as a Detective Constable, the only real difference being that I do not have a power of arrest. I handled my own caseload within CID and have dealt with a high-profile kidnap case which involved county lines drug gangs and I have attached a link to a news article. I am PIP2 accredited as of October 2020.I moved to the Counter Corruption Unit in 2022 where I spent 18 months dealing with police misconduct and attending misconduct hearings.As of August 2023, I am based in the High-Risk Domestic Abuse Unit at Derby, dealing with a lot of remand cases due to the level of risk and ensuring safeguarding referrals have been made for victim.
