Selected to participate in national leadership development fellowship aimed at training leaders in anti-hunger, anti-poverty, and anti-racism movement in the United States through field and policy work. This included analyzing state and national policies affecting civil rights and liberties of individuals who are homeless and the “You Don’t Need A Home to Vote” campaign. Which provided training and support for voter registration. I also tracked and advocated for homeless individuals as a protected class under state and national bias-motivated crime laws and assisted with the annual report on growing number of hate crimes against people who were homeless.Researched hunger and the history of Second Harvest to provide data analysis to inform strategic efforts of food bank and developed relationships with agencies and parish government to support disaster recovery efforts of food bank.
