Perform system architecture trades to balance cost/schedule/performance and to generate optimal system architecture definition. Determine what can and cannot be accomplished within the desired cost and schedule constraints. During the development process, chair peer reviews and control gate reviews. Provide guidance to BATC management with regard to core competency alignment and technical risk assessments. Establish positive relationships with customer and technical community.Led Ball Aerospace’s business development activities for space-based Focal Plane Array systems. Doubled new business over a 4-year period.Grew Ball Aerospace’s Sensor/Camera group by 3X in less than 2 years including engineers, technicians, production operators, and managers.Led manufacturing equipment and process development program, and successfully increased production capacity and yields associated with Focal Plane Arrays for space flight applications.Led internal R&D program to enable Ball Aerospace to effectively compete in new vertical market segment associated with commercial space imaging.

Responsible for leading the R&D Hardware and Embedded Software team for the 3070 board test platform product. The 3070 business is over a 200 million dollar per business. The 3070 is a complex electrical, software, and mechanical platform used for detecting process defects in electronic manufacturing. I lead a cross discipline team of fourteen software, electrical, and mechanical engineers responsible for new product generation on the 3070 platform. Responsible for making changes to the base platform and developing accessory products to address new test technology challenges, improve manufacturability, and respond to customer enhancement requests. This includes the project definition, technical management, and people management for the team. Proven track record for developing products on time, within budget, and meeting customer needs.

Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) is a $110 Million R&D spectrograph installed on the Hubble Space Telescope. Supervised multiple engineering disciplines and provided a significant portion of the technical interface with the customer. Derived and defined the CCD camera subsystem requirements, performed trade studies, systems engineering, and provided technical management. Established and managed budgets, schedules and manpower requirements. Managed the development, design, fabrication, assembly and test of the complex Electro-mechanical/Electro-optical CCD camera subsystem. Coordinated subcontract and procurement activities for major components in the CCD camera subsystem.

Lead engineer responsible for section of seven employees in the test and analysis section for the development of Infrared Focal Plane Array Detectors. Designed custom production test system to characterize integrated circuits in wafer form. Extensive experience in high resolution video data acquisition, CMOS IC analysis and test, and imaging sensor characterization.
