Producing TV news bulletins for BBC World News in London is a career highlight. My responsibilities included leading small teams, choosing stories, their angles and order in the bulletin, as well as writing headlines, news links and updates. It was constant battle with the clock that tested my mettle every day and was never boring.

I worked as a news producer on overnight bulletins at Sky's high-tech offices in Osterly, London. I wrote story links, promos and also wrote and voiced the occasional TV report. I helped out in the TV gallery when the bulletin went to air as a Director's Assistant, keeping time and playing out text straps.

I ran several radio newsrooms in regional bureaus, worked as a Video Journalist, and covered a variety of sectors including politics, mining, crime and sport. I also wrote and produced a number of current affairs reports for the weekly Stateline programme.
