Management of 3 core teams: Development & Testing, Customer Support and Projects.

Management of a team of 7 software developers and testers as well as managing a large backlog of development work. Brought in to address quality and efficiency issues which were resolved by adopting a blend of waterfall and agile processes and more tightly controlling workloads, in turn requiring strict prioritisation of incoming work.Involved in strategic business decisions, both relating to the prioritisation of development work, balancing bespoke client work and the internal backlog, and other areas of the business including sales, marketing and projects.Also continuing providing technical consultancy for customer support, projects and sales departments as required.Notable achievements:- Significantly improving the quality of software releases, leading to a continuing period of stability and an increase in customer satisfaction.- Design and production of a prototype web-based product using up-to-date technologies, adopting a front-end development role (angular.js, vue.js, sass) alongside the other developers.

Business analysis, both internally on numerous projects and externally for clients. Also involved in pre-sales requirements gathering and consultancy, technical support and account management, crystal report development, solution specification and product backlog management and both formal and informal training.Notable Projects:- Specification of new “Freight Management” functionality and product backlog management for a global warehousing and logistics project, working with client business analysts to specify technical solutions.- Implementation of a new CRM application for company-wide use, taking a configurable CRM (BPMonline), configuring it to meet basic business needs and developing a number of automated processes to enhance the sales and accounting workflow.

Internal first-line technical support for all principal office users. Also upgrading hardware and operating systems of PCs and deploying software as part of a company-wide program of system upgrades.

UAT and System testing, test planning and analysis and fault administration. Also evaluating automated testing tools for the improvement of the testing process.
