DAVID ARIANO is the owner and president of RAVINIA Plumbing, Sewer, Heating, and Electric, a leading home services provider and contractor for residential and commercial customers within a geographical region that spans a large swath of Lake County, Illinois, and Chicago’s North Shore and Northwest suburban areas. Through the years, David has built enduring professional relationships in the business community and helped establish Ravinia as a customer-centric heritage brand. He is a self-declared “recovering perfectionist” known for his integrity, professionalism, and authenticity. ♦ CAREER ARCAlthough he grew up in the family business and worked summers and weekends, David had no intention of pursuing a full-time career in plumbing. While earning his master’s degree at the University of Illinois, he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. After graduation, he landed an R&D engineer role in the climate control division at the Ford Motor Company. In 1994, at his father’s urging, David joined Ravinia. He learned the technical aspects of the plumber’s trade, got his license, and familiarized himself with all business functions. When the elder Ariano retired in 2004, David assumed control, becoming a third-generation owner and inheriting a profitable, well-positioned, well-respected business. ♦ THE BACKSTORYDavid’s grandfather, Joe Ariano, a home builder, partnered with Arnold Peterson, a master plumber and owner of Arnold Peterson Plumbing. After Peterson died in 1955, Joe took over the business, renaming the Highland Park, Illinois company Ravinia Plumbing and Heating. Joe’s son, Don, an aeronautical engineer by trade, joined Ravinia in 1961 following an honorable military discharge. He took the company reins a year later with his brother-in-law, whom he bought out in 1987, and transitioned it from construction to service.♦ PRESERVING THE FAMILY LEGACYDavid has piloted Ravinia through acquisitions, relocations, and service expansions, achieving linear, organic growth in a hypercompetitive marketplace. Investing in the training and development of his technical field force and supporting the health and well-being of the Ravinia administrative team, he fosters an organizational culture of learning, collaboration, and transparency. Leveraging his managerial skills, financial acumen, mechanical engineering background, comprehensive experience in the HVAC industry, and family traditions, David continues to grow and scale the business.David@raviniaplumbing.com847-432-5561
