Planned and organized deployment of new system infrastructure supporting automated provisioning systems in foreign and domestic data centers.Served as lead engineer in developing a standard implementation of Solaris Zones virtualized operating system environment as a custom request from a large customer. Developed supporting documentation including technical specifications, implementation and standard operating procedures.Managed a computer lab and lab support staff. Lab consisted of multiple computing, networking and storage platforms. Computer lab was used by multiple organizations for the development of new products, regression testing of new versions of software, implementation testing, and training.

Served as primary liaison to QA engineers responsible for testing new products developed by the Unix team.

Full life-cycle engineering product development from initial design to ongoing maintenance of the automated provisioning system. The automated provisioning system enabled a complete hands-off installation and configuration of the Operating System and additional third-party software. The system was crucial to the rapid deployment of new customer systems and maintaining standard system configurations across multiple data centers. The system was comprised of a web based configuration user interface, a modular installation engine, and utilized a combination of Unix shell scripting, Perl, HTML, Solaris Jumpstart, and Red Hat Kickstart technologies. Revision control of all software code was maintained using the open source Concurrent Versions System (CVS). Produced all associated documentation including standard operating procedures, engineering specifications and QA test plans. Responsible for compiling and testing new software and vendor patches to be integrated into the provisioning system. Regression tested new versions of software. Provided system administration for a worldwide server infrastructure that comprised the automated provisioning system.Was part of a team that received an award for rapidly developing and deploying an asset monitoring system for customer Unix infrastructure. Provided data support to NASA Earth Observation System Data Information System (EOSDIS). Developed web-based applications to access the EOSDIS relational database. Applications were developed for real-time monitoring of data production and distribution, system diagnostics, customer order entry, and order management. Designed and implemented GUI driven software that automated data recovery in the event of system failure. Application development involved the use of Perl, Perl DBI, CGI, HTML, and JavaScript to integrate information from several local Sybase databases. Installed and maintained Netscape Enterprise server, Apache HTTP server, Perl and Perl Modules, GNU C/C++ compilers, and various software on Sun Solaris Workstations. Received an award March 24, 1999 for rapidly designing, implementing, and delivering ahead of schedule a backup system to transmit high volumes of data to mission essential partners.

Provided scientific research support under two grants funded by NASA. Evaluated and compiled data sets for scientific analysis. Responsible for the processing and integration of satellite images and in-situ measurements for the purpose of algorithm development and validation. Data was processed using UNIX shell scripts, Perl, Fortran, C and COTS image processing software; including PCI Geomatics, Image Processing Workbench (IPW) and ARC/INFO. Statistical Analysis was performed using S-Plus. Provided basic systems administration tasks including software installation.

Provided technical support to multiple Earth sciences projects on a contractual basis. All projects were based at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and are outlined below: · Boreal Ecosystem-Atmospheric Study Responsible for the acquisition, processing, and analysis of field spectrometer data. Maintained and operated field spectrometer. Developed and streamlined an automated method for data acquisition using image capturing and analysis software. A combination of specialized scientific software written in C and Microsoft Excel was used for data processing · MODIS Administrative Support Team Responsible for basic systems administration and document management. Document management system consisted of both Solaris and MS Windows operating systems running Excaliber Technologies Pix/Tex Electronic Filing System software. Developed web interface to the document distribution system using HTML and CGI. · Bi-directional Reflectance Distribution Function Project Responsible for engineering systems support, collection and preparation of field samples, data acquisition and processing. Reprogrammed sampling system to automate tasks, resulting in less operator interfacing time during sampling. Streamlined data processing and display. The Interactive Data Language (IDL) was used for data display and processing. · Hydrological Sciences Responsible for the compiling and processing of satellite imagery and earth sciences data. Designed SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation. Designed graphics for presentations and scientific publications. Data processing was performed using Unix shell scripting, PCI image processing software and Statview statistical analysis software.
