The City of Adelaide aims to be one of the world’s most liveable cities.I’ve been involved in the full range of planning issues from strategic planning, policy development, and implementation perspective. Leadership roles have developed skills in collaboration, team building, communication, budget and project leadership. Key projects include:• Project planning and delivery of investigations and engagement to scope and prepare a long-term City Plan. Plan recognised as under preparation in Council’s new Strategic Plan.• Our Market District 2015 – 2025 strategy, including stakeholder management• Advice on planning reform, heritage and economics, music, noise and airport planning• Zoning amendments for heritage, growth, park lands and residential• Policy review regarding noise, outdoor dining, liquor licensing and encroachments

Working with mainstreet trader associations to assist them activate and grow business. Role involves ongoing stakeholder management, organising a quarterly forum with elected representatives, administration of two programs, and strategising best methods and means of support. Part of growing a prosperous and progressive Adelaide. Role within the Economic Development and Tourism Program.

Undertake variety of planning work, all with project planning, data analysis, and planning and delivery of community and stakeholder communications and engagement. Examples include:- zoning changes- growth capacity- built heritage listing- airport operations- fostering mixed uses coexisting, eg music, licensed premises, residents- helping shape a new SA planning system- legislation review- local policy

Supported the progressive implementation of the aspirations and proposals in 'Our Market District, the right ingredients for the future' through external and internal relationships, communications and engagement. Hosted key local leaders in the Market District Reference Group in a role akin to an Executive Officer. Supported the District win the Great Place Award in 2016. Provided advice regarding:- the Central Market Arcade redevelopment, one of Adelaide's most significant & sensitive development sites.- creating a Carbon Neutral Market District with the Department of Environment, Water & Natural Resources and Climate Knowledge Intensive Communities Australia.- approaching Chinatown's Reinvigoration.Activity undertaken within Economic Development & Tourism on a part time secondment from Planning & Development.

Invited stakeholders and community members to participate in planning the future of their District. Identified a variety of target audiences - business, resident, environmental, cultural, social - and sought their participation. Over a 12 month period, progressively listened and built aspirations, and ideas into proposals, with professional advice intertwined with community and stakeholder input. Organised website, marketing and workshops, including presenting and 'workshopping'. This lead to the 'Our Market District - the right ingredients for the future' being supported locally and by the Elected Council. This support continues by it being an action in the City of Adelaide 2016 - 2020 Strategic Plan.

Enabling young minds wrestle with 'people' 'community' 'social capital' 'health' 'engagement' and 'governance' to help them shape and make not only better places, but cohesive communities. Enabling young minds to wrestle with ethics in practice, be it 'conduct', the goals being worked towards, conflict of interest, and behaviour as an 'expert planner'

Co-tutored 60 international students with undergraduate degrees in construction management, property, architecture and planning. The course was an introduction regarding how to undertake property development. Peter Koulizos, the Property Professor, was the course coordinator.

Managed a team of 12 responsible for development policy, Park Lands planning and built heritage management. Progressed built heritage listing and mixed use management policy proposals as well as finalised the National Heritage listing of the Adelaide Park Lands and City Layout.

Amending zoning for retail, residential, historic, industrial and coastal areas. Prepared submissions on legislative change, assessed wide variety of applications and lead a team in assessment.
