About David Batty

I am a teacher trainer (computer science) and a digital content creator. I have been programming for 41 years and teaching the subject for 32 years. I run Code College and have delivered training to around 1000 teachers a year. I was NCCE Lancashire Hub Leader for 19 months until their contract endedSince 1985 I have been running my own software house. This started as a software house writing business and educational software. In the late 1980's I organised the first computer show in the North of England. I have always had a love of writing computer software, solving business problems, providing training and advising businesses.My skills and interests have always been in Software Development and designing & delivering Training Courses. I travel the country delivering teacher training to IT teachers needing CPD for GCSE and A Level Computing. I deliver a variety of courses on subjects such as Python, Scratch, Gamemaker, Visual Basic, Computer Science and associated skills.I deliver training for Code College, OCR, AQA, Westminster Briefing, NCCE and other organisations as required.In 2018 I was a Computer Science Inspector for OCR. In this role I visited schools prior to exams on the 15th of May to ensure that JCQ standards were being adhered to.I also work in the online virtual world of Second Life and developed the UK's first course in Second Life building and scripting.
