Project Manager - Windows Nt DeploymentTelstra Jan 1998 - Aug 2001Melbourne, AustraliaCustomer Activation Billing and Assurance (CABA) was responsible for 100+ applications with client software that was deployed on the Microsoft Windows 3.1 platform. Due to the limitation of this outdated technology, Telstra embarked on the project to update the corporate desktop OS standard to Windows NT4. My responsibility was to work with the application development teams across CABA to ensure all applications were remediated and tested to be ready for use on the new platform. This work had to be coordinated with the national rollout teams to have all required applications ready prior to the affected Telstra locations being migrated to Windows NT. All activities had to be accomplished without any additional budget funding being provided.During the rollout period, I travelled several times to all mainland capitol cities to visit key Telstra locations utilising CABA applications to gather feedback and to resolve any roadblocks to deployments.Once the applications platforms were updated, I was then charged with migrating the application development team toolset and workstations to the new SOE desktop platform. Responsibilities:- Ascertain the desktop hardware inventory of 1000+ staff- Obtain approval for and schedule the required upgrades and desktop replacements - Ensure the availability of national deployment resources to perform the Windows Upgrades- Scheduling training for staff ensuring 95% attendanceAccomplishments:- Successfully negotiated the required remediation programmes with all CABA application teams- All application remediation was delivered in the required deployment timeframes- Utilised my relationships with development teams to fast track customer changes requests -

I was the driver in trialling new IBM mainframe console remote access methods that enabled the first lights out project at the Orlando data centres.
