Founder member, Chairman for the last 28 years now Chief Executive. The Douglas Bader Foundation www.douglasbaderfoundation.com, a charity formed following my step father-in-law’s death, is a charity organisation, formed in honour of Sir Douglas Bader in 1982 by family and friends, many of whom had flown side by side with Douglas during World War 2. Douglas was honoured in 1976 with a Knighthood for his contribution and work on behalf of the disabled. The mission of the foundation is to continue Douglas' work in conjunction with and on behalf of individuals with a disability. to raise funds to benefit, inspire and practically assist primarily the UK amputee community. Responsible for the development of the Foundation’s deliverables and fund raising strategy . The Foundation has created a number of projects and activities including Bader Grants, BILL Bader Information for Limb Loss - for amputees, their family, friends and colleagues, Team Bader - Cycling , Triathlon , first overseas project The Bader Walking School and Rehabilitation Centre within the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur funded locally by HSBC Bank, inaugral amputee games held at Stoke Mandeville and on going support for Junior Amputee Games, Bader Braves Flying Days giving children with disibilities their first experience of flying,Bader Braves Adventure Challenge week-ends,Bader Grants, a number of Inspirational fundraising treks and bike challenges for able bodied and disabled to particpate in. In 2018 we launched our biggest projects to date: Bader's Bus Company The UKs first Disabled flying Display Team AND Bader's Big Band The UKs first Disabled Big Band.

After 15 months in California in 1972/3 during which I and Peter Frankland launched mobile discotheques in LA and a promo company Apples and Pears doing live promos at High Schools - we worked for Billy Gaff then manager of Rod Stewart and the Faces and others - looked after Status Quo on their first visit to LA. I came back to UK and was tour manager for Ronnie Lane's Passing Show, joined 208 Radio Luxembourg in 1974 - Organised first Summer Tour of GB with Jigsaw as the band and over the weeks - Tony Prince, Bob Stewart, Peter Powell, Stuart Henry; Mark Wesley; created the Stars Horoscope Show interviewed loads of people at the studio in Park Lane and sent tapes over; accompanied David Cassidy to the 208 studios - Mad - in touch with Rob Jones, Peter Powell and most recently the Royal Ruler !!
