His post-doctoral work included a residency in Pediatric Optometry at the University of Houston, College of Optometry, where he subsequently taught as a clinical instructor for the pediatric, contact lens, and general optometry departments. Additional training in low vision disorders was acquired during his internship at the Illinois Visually Handicapped Institute in Chicago where he worked with patients suffering vision loss and partial vision. He has extensive knowledge about the treatment of lazy eye, and has chapter published on the subject in the book Problems in Optometry.
