When I was asked to lead VCET in 2007, it was an organization with not only relevancy and financial challenges but a lack of focus around how to advance into a vibrant innovation ecosystem. So, with intention and purpose, VCET began charting a future with the entrepreneur as its true north. If an idea or program did not directly benefit the entrepreneur, it was scrapped. Concluded this two year effort by issuing over four dozen change management and efficiency recommendations on IT enterprise management, web portals, service delivery reorganization, and public infrastructure.

Within the Office of the President, I was hired in this new position to identify and evaluate new opportunities for growth for this rapidly expanding, global diversified financial services company. Unfortunately shortly after joining, the President choose to relocate the team to northern Florida. So I resigned to pursue my one year MBA at Babson College and focus on entrepreneurship.

Served as Deputy Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Economic Development and Director of Financial Services Development in Governor Howard Dean’s Administration. Team leader of 15 professionals and a $2.5 million operating budget. Formed and managed networks of state, federal, and community economic development organizations in support of new business formation/expansion, targeted recruitment, infrastructure and planning. Served as lead internal finance expert for tax incentives, risk capital programs and special corporate situations.

Crafted and executed alternative funding and investment strategies, interest rate risk analysis, contingency planning, and asset management options and trading on a $2.5 billion investment portfolio. Managed a $1.0 billion short term investment portfolio for short term liquidity requirements. Prepared and presented the company's weekly liquidity report to federal regulators during a period of required oversight.
