CurrentFlexible Body Armor TechnologyConventional body armor is designed to stop projectiles. Unfortunately, conventional body armor transmits blunt force trauma to the wearer. To stop the projectile and to also eliminate fatal blunt force trauma, additional material must be added which equals added weight. Our definition of successful body armor is that it must stop the projectile, blunt force trauma must be non-injurious, and there should be minimal transferred energy to the user and lighter in weight. That is accomplished in using our technology for laterally transferring ballistic energy across the face of the armor and away from the body or object being protected all in a lighter weight package. We believe that body armor must be very light and flexible. We also believe that armor must be comfortable to wear, so our armor does not have to be cinched tightly, it can be equally effective worn loosely. This will minimize the load and allow the user full range of motion even in full body coverage. We have independent third-party testing at Chesapeake Testing proving our 14 ounce per square foot body armor meets NIJ Level 3A (.44 Magnum) requirements. Our testing proved a reduction of blunt force trauma at lower weights and mitigation of energy transferred through the armor to the user. Our current focus is extremely lightweight armor with a very low backface signature. Our current generation armor has been successfully tested up to .50 APM2.
