Driven by intellectual curiosity and a commitment to public service, I am an early career professional with a distinctive blend of military leadership, academic achievement, and professional expertise under my belt. Currently, I hold dual roles of significant responsibility: As a Senior Watch Officer at the DHS Federal Protective Service's Incident Management Center, I lead a team of analysts, distilling complex data into critical strategic insights for senior government officials. Simultaneously, I serve as a Company Executive Officer in the Maryland Army National Guard, where I continuously refine my leadership abilities and train to defeat America's enemies. In either role, I am relied upon to synthesize analytical acumen with practical leadership, preparing me for increasingly challenging roles in public service.I am a graduate of The Citadel, where I earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Political Science. My time spent as a cadet was complemented by transformative study abroad experiences at prestigious institutions in Rome and Prague. These experiences helped to cultivate my profound interest in international relations, with a focus on European affairs and conflict studies. I continue to independently research topics of personal interest in my free time, and plan to submit some of my work for publication in the near future.Ambitious to continue my development as a student of international relations, I am in the process of applying for a Fulbright grant to conduct an independent research project on a topic related to the Russo-Ukrainian War. My experience in research and analysis has equipped me with a self-starting resourcefulness and expertise that will be extremely valuable as a Fulbright grant recipient. I am also committed to expanding my linguistic capabilities to enhance my effectiveness in global contexts; I am a self-taught Spanish speaker and am actively acquiring proficiency in German. I will draw upon these skills, as well as experiences training abroad in Senegal and Hungary as an Army officer, to best represent the United States abroad as a Fulbright scholar.Whether synthesizing complex global trends into deliverable information or leading troops in tactical scenarios, my overarching goal remains steadfast: to diligently produce high quality work with increasing impact and to make substantive contributions to the organization I support.
