Early in his professional life, Dr. Marker spent nearly 17 years helping to build a small business. He then returned to school to pursue an academic career. He received his Masters (Business – Organizational Behavior) and Ph.D. (Business – Organizational Theory) from the University of Kansas. Dr. Marker is a life-time member of Beta Gamma Sigma and has taught at large public universities and at small private schools. He has lectured and presented research papers in many different countries. Originally from Topeka, Kansas, he spent more than 12 years working at the École Supérieure de Commerce (ESC) - Clermont Ferrand, France.. While at the ESC-Clermont he earned tenure, was promoted to full professor, was the director of several masters programs, and was dean of a faculty of more than 50 full-time professors and more than 100 adjunct professors. The school earned AACSB accreditation and was consistently ranked by The Financial Times among the top business schools in Europe. Additionally, his work there allowed him to visit much of the world and to engage with business leaders and academics from all parts of the world. Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Marker joined the faculty at Grantham University. He was promoted to Dean of the Mark Skousen School of Business in 2016. Four years later he joined the administration of the College of Business and Management at Colorado Technical University based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
