David joined Rotary in 2006 and was Rotarian of the Year for the Richmond Hill Club in 2008. He joined the York Club shortly thereafter. David has led numerous activities to raise money for causes and to develop awareness of Rotary and its fourway test.

Committee with representatives from family groups and agency networks in the Developmental Services area of the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. MCSS sets and agenda reviewing what is being planned and actioned in the area of services and funding for those with Developmental disabilities including but not limited to autism.

Organization provides food and shelter for the homeless. Services provided through synagogue, churchs, mosque, and temple. A true multifaith partnership. David left the group to spend more time on Developmental Services volunteer initiatives.

David Cohen spent most of 2014 campaigning for the position of Regional Councillor for York Regionin the Town of Richmond Hill Municipal election. David had prior been on Richmond Hill Council for 22 years 1988-2010. When the election was over and David Cohen lost, he decided to move on andno longer is active in Richmond Hill Municipal Politics.

Provided consulting on land use issues and other matters. David has not recently been providing this type of consulting.

As an elected official, David won 7 consecutive elections, David actively served the people. Through much of the period, Richmond Hill was one of the fastest growing communities in Canada growing by 400%. David is known for working with diverse communities and had numerous success along the way.

Worked in several positions relating to both collections and insolvency. The majority of the years were part time.
